In an age where new medical technologies are in such high demand, wouldn't a 3D bioprinter be useful? In this talk, Dr. Sam Wadsworth explains he sees a future full of bioprinted human airways and organs. Sam is a scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur. He completed his Ph.D. in respiratory cell biology in the UK before relocating to Vancouver in 2007 to work as an academic researcher at St. Paul’s Hospital. In 2013, Sam co-founded a biotechnology company that uses a unique bioprinting technology that has the potential to revolutionise how we treat disease and the ageing process. He sees a future where human tissues can be provided on demand, where donor organs are built, not harvested, and where drugs are tested on bioprinted artificial tissues, not animals. This talk was given at a TEDx...

A walking tour around the city of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. The film chronologically progresses from morning to night, showing daily life around Vancouver. For those planning on visiting, those who’d like to visit but cannot or those who might be nostalgic and want to re-live their past visits / life there, hopefully this film shall satisfy, time and time again. Vancouver is consistently named as one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life. It's a coastal seaport city with a metropolitan population of over 2.5 million inhabitants, the third most populous in Canada. Vancouver is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada. 52% of its residents have a first language other than English. Vancouver is one of Canada's warmest cities in the winter. On average, snow falls on eleven days per year. It's also one of the wettest Canadian cities. Vancouver is one of Canada's largest industrial centres. Port Metro Vancouver, is Canada's largest and most diversified. While forestry remains its largest industry, Vancouver is well known as an urban centre surrounded by nature, making tourism its second-largest industry. Each year over a million people pass through Vancouver on cruise ship vacations, often bound for Alaska. Vancouver has one of the largest urban parks in North America, Stanley Park, a 1,001 acre public park that borders the downtown and is almost entirely surrounded by waters of Vancouver Harbour and English Bay. The park is surrounded by the near-century-old Vancouver Seawall, which can draw thousands of residents and visitors to the park every day. The park also features forest trails, beaches, lakes, children's play areas, and the Vancouver Aquarium, among many other attractions. In June, 2014 Stanley Park was named ‘top park in the entire world’ by TripAdvisor. Major film production studios in Vancouver and Burnaby have turned Greater Vancouver and nearby areas into one of the largest film production centres in North America, earning it the film industry nickname, Hollywood North. Vancouver has hosted many international conferences and events, including Expo 86, the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics. In 2014, following thirty years in California, the annual TED conference made Vancouver its indefinite home. Several matches of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup were played in Vancouver, including the final at BC Place Stadium. Filmed at the end of April - early May 2015. http://www.toffoli.ca | Vancouver realtor, Paul Toffoli talks about real estate in Vancouver, BC. My name is Paul Toffoli and I’m a realtor with the residential group Realty in Vancouver I’ve been a licensed realtor since 2001 so that gives me about 10 years’ experience as a realtor in addition to another 10 years in property and asset management, so I’ve got around 20 years’ experience in real estate. I’m born and bred in Vancouver so I’m definitely a local boy having grown up here, having seen real estate grow and evolve over the past 30 years. I think Vancouver is a just a solid investment because we are so desirable to so many people. I choose to live in Vancouver because we are such a desirable location; we have people who want to move here from all over the world because of the mountains, because of the ocean, because we have such a great cultural life. People love living in Vancouver I think having a family gives me better insights into what different people in different stages of their lives are looking for. There are so many different options for place to live. You can buy condos downtown, you can buy single family houses and then move into the suburbs if you want more space. I think that when you are working with a realtor it has to be someone that you can communicate with and get along with. I think my greatest strength is that I have a lot of knowledge and I’m happy to share that with my clients and I really try to work more as an advisor rather than as a sales person so I’m going to be able to give you information that’s going help you best to market your home, in addition if I’m working with a buyer I’m going to make sure that you know all of the concerns you may have regarding a certain property before you go ahead and make that offer. Real estate turned out to be something very comfortable for me and it’s something I really enjoy doing, it fits with my personality.
